The Catholic Bishop of the , , has dismissed claims suggesting he could serve as a running mate to in the 2027 presidential election.
Kukah made the clarification during an appearance on The PAP Show, where he stated clearly that he has no intention of joining partisan politics or serving as vice president to anyone.
He stressed that he remains fully committed to his calling as a Catholic priest, describing his priesthood as more valuable than any political office.
According to him, no political position can compare to the spiritual responsibility he carries in serving God and the Church. He added that the idea of becoming a presidential running mate does not align with his life’s mission or personal convictions.
Kukah also noted that the president has nothing to offer him in terms of a political ticket, emphasizing that his vocation outweighs any ambition for public office.
In his words: “Do I look like somebody who can be running mate to anybody? Why will I run for the presidency?
“I have something that is more than the presidency. My priesthood is more than anything you can offer. Tinubu cannot offer me a ticket.”
