A presidential aspirant of the Action Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, has expressed concern over the country’s worsening security situation, criticizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over what he described as “another failed presidential promise.”
This was contained in a statement he released on his official X handle on Monday morning.
Obi referenced the President’s recent visit to Jos, where he (President Tinubu) assured that such incidents would not recur.
“Another brutal attack occurred in Nyamgo Gyel, Jos South LGA, resulting in the deaths of several innocent citizens,” Obi said.
He also cited recent security incidents, including kidnappings and killings in Nasarawa, Zamfara, and Kaduna states, as well as an Easter Sunday attack in Benue State.
“How can a President make such a categorical promise and, mere hours later, the nation continues to count the dead across multiple states?” Obi queried.
