According to the source, the attack targeted the ECWA church but also heightened tension at a nearby Catholic church, whose members fled for safety after hearing gunshots.

“Actually, the bandits first attacked the ECWA church. While they were shooting, worshippers at the Catholic church started running out, but the bandits killed one of them,” he said.

He identified those killed at the ECWA church as Tanko Haruna, Waziri Agunu, Aminu Soba, Joseph Audu, and Adamu Jatau, adding that they were killed while trying to escape.

He also listed some of the abducted worshippers as Garba Tanko, alongside his wife, Lami Garba, one of their daughters, Rachel Garba, and a grandchild, Moses Yakubu.

Others include Rahab Usman and her daughter, Victoria Rahab; Sunday Ayuba; and Dantani Alhaji, alongside his wife, Mrs. Mary Dantani, and their three daughters, identified as Helen, Rejoice, and Ahmadu, who were among those kidnapped.
