A former Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, has defected from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the opposition coalition-backed African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Comrade Gwarzo recently resigned from his position as deputy governor following the defection of the Kano State Governor from the NNPP and the Kwankwasiyya political movement to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Gwarzo, who has served as a local government chairman and commissioner in the state, was entangled in what appeared to be a political supremacy battle between the state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, and their political benefactor, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso.
The former deputy governor was received into the ADC at a reception held in his hometown, Gwarzo, which was also attended by the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement and former governor, Kwankwaso.
Kwankwaso described the move as a boost to the party, citing Gwarzo’s wealth of experience.
