The David Mark–led faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expressed readiness to conduct its national convention as scheduled for Tuesday, April 12, 2026.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the faction’s spokesman, Bolaji Abdullahi, in which he also announced an updated list of committee members to spearhead the convention.
“The update is aimed at strengthening coordination and ensuring a smooth and credible convention. The ADC urges all committee members to discharge their responsibilities with diligence and calls on stakeholders to support the process,” Abdullahi stated.
Key coalition figures, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and Rotimi Amaechi, have been appointed to serve on the committee that will conduct the convention.
A former Cross River State Governor, Liyel Imoke, has been named chairman of the 126-member Convention Planning Committee. Former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal will serve as deputy chairman, while Dr. Ajuji Ahmed will serve as secretary.
Also named as members of the committee are former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, former Attorney General Abubakar Malami, and former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
The convention is expected to ratify the National Working Committee (NWC) with Senator David Mark as National Chairman and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary, among other members.
