Supporters of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso have unveiled a political platform aimed at rallying backing for a possible joint presidential bid in 2027.
The group, operating within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), introduced the initiative known as the “OK Movement.” The development was announced in a statement released on Monday by Justin Ijeh, the movement’s national publicity secretary.
Ijeh confirmed that the organisation has put in place its national executive council alongside zonal and state structures to drive its activities across the country.
He explained that the emergence of the movement reflects growing concern among citizens over the country’s economic condition.
“Nigeria stands at a defining crossroads. Today, as our people endure the weight of unprecedented economic hardship, the soaring cost of living, and the persistent shadow of insecurity, the Obi–Kwankwaso (OK) Movement formally announces the unveiling of its national and state structures,” the statement reads.
The group described its formation as a significant political step and a coordinated effort to promote national transformation.
“This is more than a political milestone; it is the birth of a coordinated, nationwide engine for systemic reform and national rebirth.
“We recognise the exhaustion felt in every Nigerian household. From the farmer unable to harvest in safety to the entrepreneur stifled by a volatile economy, the struggle is real. Yet, in this moment of darkness, the OK Movement stands as a beacon of resolute hope.
“Our mission is anchored in a singular, unwavering conviction: Nigeria will be OK. We do not offer mere rhetoric; we offer a structured, disciplined pathway towards a country that works, not for the few, but for every citizen.”
Ijeh also noted that the platform welcomes Nigerians who share its vision for change. He said the movement rejects divisions often driven by ethnicity, region, or religion, which he described as outdated political tactics.
