President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has dismissed Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for Economy, and Ahmed Musa Dangiwa the Minister of Housing and Urban Development.
This latest development in the Federal Executive Council was disclosed in a press statement signed on Tuesday by Yomi Odunuga, Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
Odunuga described the dismissal of the two ministers as a “minor cabinet reshuffle”, and also announced their replacement.
Edun will be replaced by Taiwo Oyedele the Minister of State for Finance while Dangiwa will be succeeded by Muttaqha Rabe Darma pending Senate’s approval.
In the meantime, the Federal Ministry of Housing and Development will be superintended by Yusuf Abdullahi Ata the Minister of State.
“The President, in approving the cabinet reshuffle, has fully exercised his powers as conferred on him by Sections 147 and 148 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1999, as amended).
“The President thanked the outgoing ministers for their services to the nation while wishing them the best in all their future endeavours,” Odunuga wrote.
