The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has said that it hasn’t received any resignation notice from Senator Ahmed Wadada stating he still remains a member of the party.

Araba Rufus Aiyenigba, National Publicity Secretary of the party, stated this while briefing journalists on Tuesday in Abuja.

Governor Abdullahi Sule last week anointed Senator Wadada as his successor in Nasarawa State and presented him to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This signals Wadada will fly the All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial flag in the state.

You cannot belong to two parties, base on the law, until due process is followed, therefore Wadada remains SDP member,” Aiyenigba said.

Senator Wadada had resigned from the APC in 2022 over disagreement on the Nasarawa West senatorial ticket, he then ran for the seat under the SDP eventually emerging winner.
