Wake Edun, the recently relieved Minister of Finance, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve in his cabinet.
Edun also doubled as the Coordinating Minister for the Economy. He described his time in the role as productive saying he is proud of what has been achieved.
“I am proud of what we achieved alongside colleagues in the Federal Executive Council, state governors, partners in the public and private sectors, and the many dedicated professionals whose work continues to support the nation’s economic transformation,” he said.
The former minister was appointed in 2023 immediately President Tinubu was sworn in and formed his government.
Edun will be succeeded by Taiwo Oyedele the Minister of State for Finance whom he wished the best as he took over the management of the economy.
I remain optimistic about Nigeria’s trajectory. I wish my successor and the entire government the very best as they continue the work of improving the lives of Nigerians,” he added.
