Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex–Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi have arrived in Ibadan, Oyo State, for a National Summit bringing together major opposition figures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The summit, hosted by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is expected to attract several high-profile politicians, including former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, alongside other opposition stakeholders.
Atiku, who is among those reportedly seeking the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), shared a video of his arrival on Facebook, showing a large crowd of supporters welcoming him in Ibadan.
The gathering is seen as a major political meeting point for opposition leaders as discussions intensify around alliances, party strength, and strategies ahead of the 2027 elections.
Further details of the summit’s agenda and resolutions are expected to emerge as the meeting progresses.
