The Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umar Zulum has endorsed a former Commissioner of Works, Mustapha Gubio, as his preferred successor for the 2027 gubernatorial election in the state.
The governor’s spokesman, Dauda Iliya disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, saying Gubio represents continuity on the current administration’s programs.
This endorsement will tighten the competition for the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship ticket in the state as Vice President Kashim Shettima is reportedly rooting for another candidate for the state top job.
