The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to convene on Thursday in Abuja to address pressing internal issues threatening unity within the party.
Top on the agenda is the appointment of a substantive National Chairman, following the resignation of Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Credible sources at the APC national secretariat told Daily Trust that party leaders are under pressure to stabilize the party’s leadership structure ahead of upcoming electoral activities.
“There’s growing concern over the leadership vacuum and the need for a consensus figure to steer the party forward,” a senior party official said.
The meeting is expected to draw in state governors, party elders, and key stakeholders, with other matters including reconciliation efforts and preparations for future elections also scheduled for discussion.
