Two aspirants contesting the All Progressives Congress, APC, senatorial primaries in Kebbi State have stepped down ahead of the exercise scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2026.
The aspirants are former Kebbi South senator, Bala Ibn Na’All, and Sani M. Kabiru, who sought the party’s ticket for Kebbi Central Senatorial District.
Na’All announced his withdrawal in a letter addressed to the APC chairman in Kebbi State.
The former lawmaker explained that his decision followed what he described as reliable information concerning the party’s position ahead of the primaries. He alleged that certain directives from higher authorities influenced the process.
Na’All, who described himself as a founding member of the APC, stated that he had devoted more than 14 years to strengthening the party at both the state and national levels.
He also appreciated his supporters for standing by him throughout his ambition.
In a similar development, Sani Kabiru also pulled out of the race for the Kebbi Central senatorial ticket.
Kabiru said his decision was based on personal, political and strategic considerations.
In his withdrawal letter, he thanked party leaders, members of his campaign team and supporters for their encouragement and support.
He also reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and promised to continue supporting the party in future political activities and elections.
