The All Progressives Congress, APC, has announced Ogundu Kingsley Chinda as its governorship candidate for Rivers State after the conclusion of the party’s primary election.
The result was declared on Thursday at the APC secretariat after officials completed the collation of votes from the twenty-three local government areas of the state.
Chairman of the APC Governorship Screening Committee for Rivers State, Bitrus Kwamoti, confirmed that Chinda secured victory with a total of 268,497 votes.
Kwamoti also praised party members for their conduct during the exercise. He stated that the primary election was peaceful and successful.
Chinda is regarded as an ally of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
