The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kwara State, Engineer Salihu Yakubu Danladi, has pledged to continue the policies and projects of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq if elected in 2027.
Danladi made the promise shortly after emerging victorious in the party’s governorship primary election.
The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly described his emergence as a collective success for members and aspirants within the APC in the state.
“We need to thank God Almighty for where we are. In APC, we are all one. There is no winner, there is no loser. We are all winners. I need to thank Kwarans for standing by Kwara North,” he told journalists after the announcement of the primary election result.
The APC candidate also appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting his emergence as the party’s flag bearer.
“I would thank Mr President. He is truly the Jagaban of Borgu. This is the first time since 1999 that the Borgu Kingdom will have a governorship candidate from a ruling party. Sincerely, we thank His Excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the father of the nation, for looking at where he got the Jagaban of Borgu and taking it to that side,” he said.
Danladi further praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his leadership style and achievements in office.
“We also need to thank Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. He’s a man of his words. He’s a leader. He’s a transformer. And he has done very well across different sectors,” the Speaker said.
Speaking on his plans for the state, Danladi said he had been actively involved in the current administration and would sustain its direction if elected governor.
“We are part and parcel of this administration. As Speaker for almost seven years today, I’m practically part of all the policies of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. All I need to say is legacy continues, and our state will be better for it,” he added.
