President Bola Tinubu has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress presidential primary election in Ondo State after securing 181,966 votes.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who served as the returning officer for the exercise, announced the result on Sunday in Akure after the collation of votes from the 18 local government areas of the state.

Tinubu defeated his challenger, Mr Stanley Osifo, who failed to record any vote in the primary.

According to Aiyedatiwa, Ondo State has 193,334 registered APC members, while 181,996 members were accredited for the exercise. He added that the same number of votes was recorded during the primary.

The governor described the exercise as peaceful and successful.

“Party members demonstrated unity and loyalty by unanimously supporting President Tinubu during the exercise.

“Although two aspirants contested for the APC presidential ticket, the second contestant, Mr Osifo Osayeme Stanley, failed to secure a single vote, while President Tinubu won all the votes cast in the state,” he said.

Aiyedatiwa also stated that about 93 per cent of registered party members participated in the exercise.

He said the state remained fully aligned with the APC and disclosed that the party was working toward delivering one million votes for Tinubu during the 2027 presidential election.

The Ondo State APC Chairman, Mr Babatunde Kolawole, praised party members and Governor Aiyedatiwa for ensuring a peaceful process throughout the exercise.

Also speaking, former Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, commended governors across the country for their support for the President.

According to him, the backing received by Tinubu from governors reflected an elite consensus capable of producing positive results for the country.

Mimiko further expressed appreciation to the President for appointing three substantive ministers from Ondo State.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the primary election results were collated from all 18 local government areas in the state.
