Colombian music star Shakira and Nigerian singer Burna Boy have unveiled the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup titled Dai Dai, with football icons Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland appearing in the music video.
The audio version of the song was released on May 15, while the official video later appeared on FIFA World Cup social media platforms.
The video closes with the message: “We’re ready!”
Before the full release, Shakira had shared a teaser recorded at Brazil’s famous Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. The short clip showed the singer on the pitch with the official 2026 World Cup match ball known as the “Tricorda”.
In the preview, she performed parts of the song in English alongside dancers dressed in colours linked to countries such as Colombia and the United States.
The four-minute video opens with appearances from football stars including Messi, Mbappé and Haaland, who each declare, “We are ready” for Shakira.
Scenes in the visual were shot in Miami. The production begins with Shakira standing atop Mexico City’s Angel of Independence monument before switching to desert scenes where she dances alongside African children.
Burna Boy later appears for his verse while Shakira performs on a glowing globe beneath a star-filled sky.
The singer also features in stadium scenes with female dancers wearing outfits inspired by nations participating in this year’s World Cup tournament, which will take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The song and its visuals celebrate football legends from different generations, including Romário, Paolo Maldini, Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi, Diego Maradona and Pelé.
Shakira has maintained a strong connection with the FIFA World Cup over the years. She performed at the finals in 2006 and 2014. She also released the popular tournament anthem Waka Waka for the 2010 World Cup.
The singer is also expected to co-headline the halftime performance at the World Cup final alongside Madonna and BTS.
