Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are reportedly willing to consider offers for Nigerian international Ademola Lookman during the upcoming summer transfer window, despite signing the forward only a few months ago.

Reports from Spain and Turkey indicate that Atletico could approve the sale of the Super Eagles star if interested clubs meet their valuation of about €60 million.

Lookman joined Diego Simeone’s side in February from Italian club Atalanta in a deal said to be worth around €35 million plus additional bonuses. He signed a contract that runs until 2030.

Although the 28-year-old contributed goals in La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League, reports suggest he has found it difficult to fully adjust to Atletico’s tactical system. The club is also believed to be considering changes to its squad ahead of next season.

The development has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe, particularly in the English Premier League.

Arsenal are reportedly among the clubs keeping tabs on the situation, with manager Mikel Arteta said to be an admirer of Lookman’s ability to operate in different attacking positions.

Liverpool have also been linked with the Nigerian forward. The Merseyside club reportedly views his pace and work rate as qualities that could suit their style of play. Manchester United are also monitoring developments as they seek additional options in wide attacking areas.

Outside England, Turkish side Fenerbahce are expected to renew their interest after previously attempting to sign the player before Atletico secured his services in January. French champions Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be following the situation.

Italian clubs Inter Milan and Juventus reportedly admire Lookman as well. However, Atletico’s asking price and the player’s reported salary demands could make a deal difficult for Serie A sides.

Lookman enjoyed a successful spell at Atalanta, where he scored 55 goals and famously netted a hat-trick in the UEFA Europa League final. Before moving to Italy, he featured for Charlton Athletic, Everton, Fulham and Leicester City in England.
