President Bola Ahmed Tinubu says Nigeria’s economy has “turned the corner for good” following the economic reforms introduced by his administration more than two years ago.

Speaking on Friday at the coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Sen.) Abdul-Rashidi Adewolu Akanmu Ladoja, Tinubu assured Nigerians that they would soon begin to enjoy the benefits of the reforms, praising citizens for their patience and support.

“Today, I am honoured to bring the cheering news that our economy has turned around and there is now light at the end of the tunnel,” the President said.

He also commended the new Olubadan, his long-time political ally and former Oyo State governor, for his resilience in Nigeria’s democracy, noting his survival of an illegal impeachment.

Governor Seyi Makinde presented Oba Ladoja with the staff of office, declaring that disputes over Ibadan’s traditional throne were now settled.
