The Katsina State Executive Council has approved the procurement of 5,000 cartons of ammunition to support security efforts against banditry in the state.
According to the state government, the ammunition will be distributed to the Community Watch Corps, vigilante groups, and hunters working alongside security operatives to combat rising insecurity.
Officials said the move is part of ongoing measures to strengthen community-based security initiatives and complement the efforts of conventional security agencies in restoring peace across Katsina.
