Former Kogi lawmaker, Dino Melaye, has voiced concern over the current state of affairs in Nigeria, describing recent developments as unprecedented since 1999.

In a post shared on his social media page on Thursday, Melaye said the nation must not be allowed to collapse amid growing tension and political uncertainty.

He also reacted to reports of U.S. President Donald Trump’s alleged threat to Nigeria, linking it to the country’s ongoing instability.

Melaye wrote, “Nigeria must not die. The things happening in this country have never happened since 1999. Rumour of coup; Trump and America’s threat of invasion, and arbitrary, egocentric amendments of existing laws. Enough is enough. In an unjust society, silence is a crime.”
