Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has shared what he claims to be evidence proving that Senator Ned Nwoko married Nollywood actress Regina Daniels while she was still a minor.
In a post shared on Facebook, Sowore alleged that official documents show Regina was 17 years old at the time of her marriage to Nwoko in May 2019. He also accused the senator of falsifying records, including obtaining a fake Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voter’s card to conceal Regina’s real age.
According to Sowore, the details on Regina’s international passport indicate she was born in October 2001. He further alleged that Nwoko traveled internationally with her when she was below 18 years old, visiting countries such as Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt.
Sowore wrote, “We obtained a copy of Regina Daniels’s international passport, which was issued based on her birth certificate. She was underage at the time of her marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko. Evidence also shows that he used a falsified INEC voter’s card to misrepresent her age.”
He added that Nwoko deliberately avoided traveling with Regina to the U.S. or Europe to prevent legal scrutiny over her age at the time.
The activist described the revelations as “serious legal and ethical issues,” stressing that no political influence should shield anyone from accountability if the claims are proven true.
