The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has formally registered Governor Siminalayi Fubara as a member of the party.
A photograph shared by Tony Okocha, media aide to the state APC chairman, shows Governor Fubara thumb-printing a document believed to be the party’s register. The registration was conducted at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Friday.
Fubara had earlier announced on Tuesday that he was leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the APC. He said his defection was in the interest of Rivers people and also an expression of gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, whom he credited for enabling him to remain in office amid the political crisis in the state.
