As Christmas celebrations approach, Hajiya Fatima Tajuddeen Abbas, wife of the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, has announced a special initiative aimed at spreading goodwill and providing much-needed support to the Christian community in Kaduna.
Through her foundation, Fatima Tajuddeen Abbas Foundation, the First Lady will oversee the distribution of food, cash, and meat to thousands of Christians in the state, particularly in Zone One, starting this Sunday at the Zaria Local Government Secretariat.
This charitable event is in line with the foundation’s ongoing mission to uplift the underprivileged and promote welfare, especially during festive seasons. Since its establishment, the foundation has consistently worked to address pressing issues such as poverty alleviation, educational support, and women’s empowerment. Notable initiatives have included free healthcare services, scholarships for disadvantaged children, vocational training for women, and food and financial assistance during major holidays like Sallah and Christmas.
“My goal is to alleviate the suffering of those who have less, to make sure they can celebrate the season with dignity,” Hajiya Fatima Abbas stated. “Empowering vulnerable individuals, whether through material support or educational opportunities, is key to fostering a stronger, more inclusive society.”
The foundation’s work, driven by the belief that supporting the less fortunate is a cornerstone of national development, will continue to make a tangible impact, especially during the holiday season. This year’s distribution is expected to reach thousands, providing a much-needed boost to Christian communities across the region.
The event, which marks the foundation’s annual Christmas initiative, will begin on Sunday at the Zaria Local Government Secretariat, with food items, cash gifts, and Christmas meat allowances being distributed to recipients in the area.
This generous gesture by Hajiya Fatima Tajuddeen Abbas has been met with widespread praise, as it offers not only a festive celebration but also a tangible step towards empowering those in need.
