BREAKING: NNPCL Reduces Fuel Price By N80
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The (NNPCL) has reduced the pump price of petrol for the third time in December 2025, signaling continued adjustments in the downstream oil sector.

A survey of filling stations across Abuja on Thursday showed that NNPCL has lowered the price of petrol to ₦835 per litre, down from ₦915 per litre. This represents a ₦80 reduction in the pump price.

The latest cut follows similar price reviews by private marketers, including MRS, BOVAS, and AA Rano, which recently adjusted their pump prices in the federal capital to a range of ₦739 to ₦865 per litre, depending on location.

Industry watchers say the downward trend is largely influenced by recent price adjustments at the depot level. The and other depot owners reportedly slashed their ex-depot prices to between ₦699 and ₦800 per litre, creating room for retail price reductions.

Recall that NNPCL and several other filling stations had earlier reduced petrol prices on December 4 and December 10, 2025, making this the third downward review within the month.

The ongoing reductions are expected to ease transportation costs and provide some relief to consumers, as stakeholders continue to monitor pricing dynamics in the fuel market.
