The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has cautioned politicians he described as “emergency” supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to adhere strictly to existing political agreements in Rivers State.

Wike issued the warning on Sunday while addressing stakeholders in Emohua Local Government Area of the state. He said political alignment should be guided by principles, consistency and respect for agreements already reached, rather than opportunistic moves driven by personal interest.

According to the former Rivers State governor, sudden declarations of loyalty without regard for established understandings risk undermining trust and stability within the state’s political structure. He stressed that agreements entered into by political actors must be honoured to preserve unity and credibility.

Wike, a key political figure in the state, urged party leaders and stakeholders to remain focused on collective goals and avoid actions that could deepen divisions. He emphasized the need for discipline and sincerity in political engagements, particularly as alignments continue to shift at both state and national levels.

The meeting in Emohua brought together party leaders, community representatives and other stakeholders, and formed part of Wike’s ongoing engagements with political actors in Rivers State amid evolving political dynamics.
