The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has assured troops that the various challenges confronting them will be addressed decisively.

Speaking to journalists on Wednesday at the end of a three-day visit to the Headquarters of the Nigerian Army’s 6 Division in Port Harcourt, Oluyede said the welfare of soldiers and their families remains a top priority for the Army under his leadership.

He noted that with the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration concerted efforts are underway to improve the living and working conditions of officers and men of the Nigerian Army.

“We are committed to making life better for our soldiers and their families. With the backing of the Federal Government, the Army leadership will ensure that the welfare and operational needs of troops are given utmost attention,” Oluyede said.

During the visit, the Army Chief commissioned several projects, addressed soldiers, and engaged with critical stakeholders in the Niger Delta region as part of efforts to strengthen civil-military relations and boost troop morale.
