Ace producer and music executive Osabuohien Osaretin, popularly known as Sarz, has spoken about the negative impact of poor infrastructure—especially inconsistent electricity—on Nigeria’s creative industry.
Appearing on the Afropolitan podcast, the 36-year-old said he has never experienced 24 hours of uninterrupted electricity in Nigeria despite being born and raised in the country.
“I was born and raised in this country and I have never experienced electricity for 24 hours. There are times when I wake up feeling inspired and I want to create music but there is no light,” he said.
Sarz explained that lack of power supply and fuel scarcity often disrupt creative moments, leading to lost potential.
He stressed that reliable infrastructure is essential for creatives to perform at their best and for the Nigerian entertainment industry to thrive.
