Chelsea Football Club has announced that it will visit Lagos, Nigeria, for the first time in its history this May as part of its global fan engagement programme. The English Premier League side confirmed the development in a statement on Thursday, noting that former player and ex-Super Eagles forward Victor Moses will headline activities during the visit.
The Lagos event forms part of The Famous CFC initiative, designed to strengthen ties with supporters worldwide. According to the club, the stop in Nigeria will be the penultimate destination of the 2025/26 season. Fans will be treated to a weekend of activities, including a watch party, a question-and-answer session with Moses, and opportunities to win signed merchandise.
Chelsea explained that Lagos is the fifth city to host the programme this season, reflecting its expansion to include more destinations. The initiative aims to deepen connections with Blues supporters across different regions, bringing fans closer to the club as the season approaches its conclusion.
Victor Moses, who enjoyed a successful spell at Chelsea, remains a popular figure among Nigerian fans. He was part of the squad that won the 2016/17 Premier League title under Antonio Conte. At international level, Moses represented Nigeria from 2012 until his retirement in 2018, playing a key role in the Super Eagles’ 2013 Africa Cup of Nations triumph and featuring at the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cup tournaments.
Chelsea has urged interested fans to register for a chance to attend the Lagos event. Participation will be subject to a ballot, with registration not guaranteeing entry. The club emphasized that the initiative is about bringing supporters together and celebrating the global reach of its fan base.
The visit marks a significant moment for Nigerian fans, offering them a rare opportunity to engage directly with one of Europe’s most successful clubs and a player who bridged both Chelsea’s history and Nigeria’s football legacy.
