EFCC Collected N10m Before Releasing Me – Oladips Alleges

Nigerian rapper Oladips has accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of collecting ₦10 million from him before his release following his arrest last year.

Speaking on the Trending podcast, the rapper recounted his experience, claiming that he was arrested during a midnight raid in his estate in November 2024 and detained for five days despite no evidence being found against him.

“It’s just one smelling place like that. They packed us there like sardines and gave us nonsense food. Funny enough, it was Zlatan who was sending me food — he’s not even just a friend, he’s my blood,” Oladips said.

He alleged that EFCC officials demanded money before letting him go, even though nothing incriminating was discovered.

“I wasn’t supposed to be there in the first place. They didn’t find anything on me — not even a single thing. And they still collected ₦10 million from me before they released me,” he stated.

When asked if he planned to take legal action against the agency, Oladips said he had little faith in the system.

“Who is my father now? At the end of the day, it’s just me and my truth. If I were doing Yahoo, they’d have posted me on their page. They know I’m saying the truth — they collected money from me for nothing. Nigeria just happened to me,” he added.
