Former governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has dismissed the endorsement of National Assembly aspirants from the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, while hosting party stakeholders during the weekend at his Isan-Ekiti home, described the purported endorsement as “kangaroo” and accused some individuals within government circles of attempting to polarise the party.
Stressing the importance of consensus, the former governor noted that elections become inevitable when stakeholders fail to agree on a candidate.
He also called on members of the National Assembly seeking re-election to be ready to present their achievements before seeking endorsement for another term.
