ABUJA, FCT As the 2026 local government elections approach, the race for the City Center Ward has taken a sophisticated turn. Among the contenders, Hon. Eya Michael Okechukwu is emerging as a candidate offering more than just political rhetoric, he is offering a professional upgrade.

Running under the Accord Party, Okechukwu is a man of many hats: a seasoned Cybersecurity Analyst, a dedicated Robotics Coach, and a professional Photographer. This unique combination of technical precision and creative vision is what he believes the heart of the nation needs to thrive.

The Man Behind the Lens and the Code

Abuja City Center is the most photographed part of our country, but beneath the beautiful skyline are systems that need fixing, Okechukwu stated. As a professional photographer, Michael has spent years capturing the vibrant life of Abuja’s streets. This perspective has given him a boots-on-the-ground understanding of the ward’s beauty and its decay.

Through my lens, I see the potential of our youth and the gaps in our infrastructure, he says. As a Cybersecurity Analyst, I have the technical skills to secure our neighborhoods and make our local government transparent. My career is about protection and perspective.

Running on the Accord Party platform, the first party on the ballot paper, Michael’s  Secure Future Blueprint focuses on:

  • Documented Transparency: A commitment to visual and financial accountability, ensuring residents see exactly where and how ward funds are being utilized.

The Accord for Oneness

With the Accord Party’s ‘Thumbs Up’ logo and the motto “Oneness & Progress, Michael is calling for a unified front. We are the first on the ballot because we are the first choice for a modern Abuja, says a campaign coordinator.

For the residents of City Center Ward, Michael Okechukwu represents a shift from the career politician to the Solution Architect. He isn’t just asking for a vote; he is asking for a partnership to develop, secure, and capture the best version of Abuja.

A Call to Action

I am not just coming with promises; I am coming with a blueprint, Okechukwu says. I am running to ensure that our ward becomes a model for efficiency and safety in the FCT. Let’s build a City Center that works for everyone.
