Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, has stepped down from his position in the administration of Bola Tinubu.

His resignation was confirmed by former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad, who disclosed that Tuggar submitted his resignation on Monday. The resignation letter is expected to be formally presented at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

According to available information, Tuggar resigned in order to focus on his political ambition of contesting in the 2027 governorship election in Bauchi State.

“The Foreign Affairs Minister, Yusuf Tuggar, will bid farewell to the Federal Executive Council today as he steps down from his position to pursue the governorship of Bauchi State,” Bashir Ahmad stated.

As of the time of this report, Tuggar has not personally issued an official statement regarding his resignation.
