Dele Momodu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, has denied claims that he is against former presidential candidate Peter Obi.
Momodu made the clarification while responding to an X user, @Blazeregent, who accused him of being anti-Obi. The criticism followed Momodu’s earlier post advising a PDP chieftain, Bode George, to purge himself of anti-Atiku sentiments.
The user wrote, “Purge yourself anti-OBI first. You have no moral right to criticize matters like this.
“If you have the right to be perpetual anti-OBI, so is anyone else to be perpetual anti-ATIKU. Daddy wa, please go and rest.”
Responding to the allegation, Momodu insisted that he has never been against Obi. He explained that he first supported Obi when former Vice President Atiku Abubakar chose him as his running mate.
Momodu also dismissed suggestions of any conflict between Obi and Atiku, stating that both politicians have always shown each other mutual respect in public and in private.
He wrote, “I can never be anti-Obi. The first time I supported Obi when Atiku picked him as running mate.
“I’m not aware they are enemies. They always treat each other with mutual respect in private and public.”
