American singer Jason Derulo has opened up about his personal life, revealing that he never imagined he would still be single at the age of 37.
Speaking in an interview with Graham Bensinger, the “Don’t Wanna Go Home” hitmaker said his experiences over the years have changed how he views relationships and marriage.
“I thought I was going to marry a lot of the girls I dated. Never in a million years I thought that I would be 37 and single.
“However, I have seen too much. I have seen too much in my life. You could imagine the things that I have seen; married women leaving their spouses on the spot, leaving their men in the club. I have seen everything under the sun,” he said.
Derulo explained that witnessing different relationship situations, including breakups and tense moments between couples, made him more cautious about commitment.
The singer previously dated fellow artist Jordin Sparks for three years before they split in September 2014.
In 2021, he welcomed a son with his then-girlfriend Jena Frumes. However, the couple parted ways just five months after their child was born.
His comments highlight how personal experiences and what he has seen around him have shaped his current outlook on love and relationships.
