Rosy Meurer has responded to criticism over her past statements about the failed marriage between Tonto Dikeh and Olakunle Churchill.
This comes shortly after Meurer released a new video denying that she ever knew, met, or had any personal relationship with Tonto Dikeh when she was still married to Churchill.
Tonto Dikeh and Churchill divorced in 2017 following allegations that he had an extra-marital affair with Meurer, who was reportedly close to Tonto at the time. Back then, Meurer denied the allegations and described herself as a family friend to the couple.
In an old video, she had said, “He (Churchill) and his wife remain family to me. We once hang out together before.”
Four years after the divorce, Meurer got married to Churchill. Their marriage sparked controversy online, with many social media users accusing her of taking her friend’s husband.
On Wednesday, while addressing the long-standing controversy in a new Instagram video, Meurer again denied ever having any relationship with Tonto in the past. Her new claim led to backlash, as many people pointed out the contradiction between her old and recent statements.
Reacting to the criticism in a lengthy Instagram post, Meurer said she was pressured by her management team to make the earlier video where she referred to Churchill and Tonto as “family friends.”
She claimed she was forced to lie at the time.
“You want me to hang on to the nonsense old video I made in fear due to the fact that I was so young and innocent.
“I was dragged into violence by force. With all the pressure then, PR team will make you say many things even if you don’t feel it is right. Right now whatever I say is THE REAL TRUTH. I am now older and wiser. No PR team can force me to say what they believed is better than my truth. If you like, bring videos of 1000 years ago. It does not change my reality.”
