Victor Osimhen has alleged that he was treated unfairly during his time at SSC Napoli, saying he felt “treated like a dog” following his fallout with the Serie A side.
The Super Eagles striker made the remarks in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport when asked about his relationship with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
His comments come months after the club faced criticism for posting a TikTok video that mocked him over a missed penalty against Bologna.
Osimhen, who now plays for Galatasaray, claimed that after disagreements over his future, Napoli attempted to push him out in different directions.
“We had a gentleman’s agreement that I could leave the following summer, but the other side didn’t fully fulfill that commitment,” Osimhen said.
“They tried to send me everywhere, they treated me like a dog. Go here, go there, do this, do that.
“I worked so hard for my career, I could not accept that kind of treatment. I’m not a puppet.”
His comments come ahead of Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League Round of 16 playoff first-leg clash on Tuesday.
