Nigerian content creator Kolu has reportedly been arrested in the United Kingdom following an alleged altercation with immigration officers.
The incident was made public by Nigerian musician Candy Bleakz, who shared details in a video posted on her Instagram page. According to her, Kolu had travelled to the UK under her sponsorship.
Candy Bleakz explained that the issue began when they were preparing to board a return flight to Nigeria and Kolu could not find his passport. She said she advised him to remain calm and properly search for the document, and suggested they inform immigration authorities about the situation.
Recounting the incident, she said:
“I already explained to Kolu that he is going to the UK on my name, and if he does not come back to Nigeria, it is going to have a huge effect on me. So we wanted to board a flight, Kolu couldn’t find his passport. I said okay Kolu just calm down and find everywhere for your passport. Okay you didn’t see it, we needed to communicate this to the immigration but instead Kolu go dey fight.
“I told Kolu to calm down, he did not listen. He thought it was Nigeria. He has been taken to the station. I have been at the station since morning trying to communicate with them because I don’t want them to return Kolu to Nigeria through deportation because it’s going to have a negative effect on his passport.”
As of the time of this report, there has been no official statement from UK authorities regarding the arrest, and Kolu has not publicly commented on the situation.
