The National Youth Service Corps has announced that its online registration portal for prospective corps members will open from March 12 to March 18, 2026.

The scheme made the announcement through a flyer shared on its official social media platforms on Friday.

The notice informed prospective corps members that registration would only be available to graduates whose names appear on the approved Senate or Academic Board lists submitted by their institutions.

“Attention, Prospective Corps Members (PCMs), I am happy to inform you that the NYSC portal will be opened for online registration from 12th to 18th March, 2026,” the flyer read.

The statement also clarified that registration would apply only to eligible candidates.

It explained that those who can take part are “PCMs who have Senate/Academic Board approved results and whose details have been uploaded on the NYSC portal by their respective institutions.”

The agency advised prospective corps members to visit the official NYSC website and its social media channels for detailed instructions on the registration process.

It also urged applicants to carefully check their personal details before starting the registration.

According to the scheme, candidates must ensure that the name on their record with the National Identity Management Commission corresponds with the one on the Senate list and the NYSC portal.

Graduates were also advised to confirm that the names on their certificates or statements of result match the information submitted for mobilisation.

The NYSC further directed applicants to verify their details through the Senate list verification portal before beginning the online registration process.

The announcement follows recent reforms in the education sector that aim to strengthen the credibility of academic records.

Earlier, PUNCH Online reported that the Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, introduced stricter steps to tackle certificate fraud. He warned that graduates without proper documentation would not qualify for mobilisation under the NYSC scheme.

Alausa said the Federal Government was improving compliance among institutions and strengthening academic record management as part of wider reforms meant to protect the integrity of Nigeria’s education system.

The minister made the remarks during a national capacity-building programme organised to support the implementation of the Nigeria Education Repository and Data Bank.
