The Oyo State Police Command has arrested 10 suspected armed robbers in Ibadan, the state capital.

 

In a statement made available to DAILY POST on Sunday, the command’s Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed that the suspects were apprehended in a hotel located in the Challenge area of the city.

Ayanlade said the arrested individuals are members of an armed robbery syndicate notorious for hijacking containers at gunpoint.

 

“The 10 members of the armed robbery syndicate were arrested at their hideout within a hotel in the Challenge area of Ibadan,” he stated.

 

The suspects include Mukaila Omorayo, Adekanbi Adesola, Ahmed Oderinlo, Samuel Omoseyin, Ramon Saheed, Monilola Ajayi, and Akanbi Bisi. Others are Wasilat Abdullahi, Bolaji Tanimola, and Adeola Oyesina.

 

According to the police, some of the stolen items were recovered from the suspects, with the total value of the recovered exhibits estimated at One Hundred Million Naira (₦100,000,000.00).
