Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) has announced the opening of applications for its Visiting Student Research Program (VSRP) 2026. The program offers a fully funded international internship for bachelor’s and master’s students worldwide.

The KAUST VSRP provides a three to six-month research internship designed for students in STEM fields who seek hands-on experience at one of the world’s leading research universities.

Comprehensive Benefits for Selected Students

Students selected for the program will receive extensive financial and logistical support covering major expenses. Benefits include:

USD $1,000 monthly stipend

Round-trip airfare to Saudi Arabia

Private bedroom with attached bathroom

Health insurance

Visa assistance

Access to state-of-the-art laboratories and research centers

Participation in social, cultural, and community activities on campus

Professional mentorship from KAUST faculty


Available Research Areas

The program spans a wide range of disciplines, including:

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet specific requirements to qualify for the KAUST VSRP 2026.

“Open to students of all nationalities, including Pakistan,” the program states. Eligible students must be in their third year or higher as undergraduates, or be master’s students. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 out of 4 and demonstrate strong spoken and written English skills. PhD candidates, current KAUST students, and KAUST alumni are not eligible.

Updated CV or Resume

Official academic transcript in English or Arabic

Letter of recommendation

Personal statement

Valid passport


Application Process and Deadline

Applications remain open throughout the year, allowing students to apply at a time suitable for their academic schedule. Interested candidates should visit the official KAUST VSRP website, review program details and eligibility, create an account on the online portal, complete personal and academic information, and upload the required documents. They must select preferred research areas aligned with their interests and submit the application.

Shortlisted candidates are typically notified within a few weeks after submission.
