The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has reiterated that security remains a top priority of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
The minister disclosed this after meeting with the President on Sunday in Lagos.
According to him, President Tinubu has continued to engage security agencies on strategies for achieving lasting peace, following his recent visit to Jos.
“He (Tinubu) just came back from Jos, and security is uppermost in his mind.
“He keeps talking and engaging with the security agencies on how we can find a lasting solution, including collaboration with our regional and international partners, to ensure that we bring lasting peace to our country,” Idris said.
Access Post reported a resurgence of violence in parts of Plateau State following the Palm Sunday attack in Anguwan Rukuba in Jos North. Earlier violent incidents were also reported in states such as Borno, Kaduna, and Katsina.
The minister also highlighted collaboration with international partners, including neighbouring countries, as well as the United States, the European Union, and the United Kingdom.
