Veteran Nollywood actress Eucharia Anunobi has recalled how she secured a role in the classic film Glamour Girls 2 about 30 years ago.
Speaking during a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, the movie star revealed that she got the role after attending an audition and agreeing to play the unconventional character of Anita.
According to her, the payment she received for the role was very large at the time, adding that some Nollywood actors today still do not earn that much for movie roles.
She said:
“After I accepted to play the role of Anita in Glamour Girls 2, the producer asked me how much I would like to be paid and I told him. I was expecting him to negotiate, but he accepted without negotiation.
“I regretted not demanding more than what I demanded, though it was huge money at that time. I mean big money.
“The money they paid me for Glamour Girls Part 2, some people are not collecting it today. I say it and I beat my chest.”
However, the actress declined to reveal the exact amount she was paid when asked by the podcast host.
Anunobi also spoke about a controversial bathtub scene she acted with Zack Orji in the film.
She explained that despite rumours suggesting otherwise, nothing inappropriate happened during the filming of the scene.
According to her, it was purely acting and carefully staged to create the intended effect for the movie.
She added:
“When I got to the bathtub, I had to raise my leg and put it on his shoulder and push my derrière nearer him… That was the high point of the movie. Everybody was thinking something happened. But it was just acting.”
The actress further disclosed that she received extra payment for performing the controversial scene.
