The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, has urged the federal government to step up efforts in tackling insecurity, warning that banditry and violence continue to ravage parts of northern Nigeria despite ongoing military operations.
Speaking on Tuesday, the monarch said the persistent attacks on communities pose a serious threat to peace and stability in the region, and called for decisive action to restore safety.
While expressing concern over insecurity, the Sultan also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for policies that have led to a noticeable drop in food prices nationwide, describing the development as a welcome relief for many households.
He stressed that both security and economic stability are crucial to Nigeria’s progress, urging collaboration between leaders and citizens to achieve lasting peace.
