Popular Nollywood actor Tobi Makinde has addressed rumours of a fallout between him and actress Funke Akindele.

The speculation started after Funke Akindele, who is widely seen as a mentor and “industry mother” to Tobi, did not attend his wedding in December 2025.

However, speaking in an interview with BBC, Tobi dismissed the claims, saying social media often creates false narratives.

“I’m not aware of any fallout between madam Funke and I. Nothing really happened. Our relationship did not start on social media and no be for social media e go end.”

He explained that as people grow and move through different stages of life, relationships may naturally change or seem distant.
