The Chairman of Sapele Local Government Area in Delta State, Bright Abeke, has reportedly been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

The incident happened on Friday evening at about 7:25 p.m. at a hotel located along Owumi Road.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers arrived in a vehicle, opened fire, and then whisked the council chairman away to an unknown location.

During the attack, a local vigilante member identified as Ufuoma and another person were reportedly injured.

The injured vigilante has been taken to a medical facility, although his current condition has not been confirmed.
