Nigerian music stars Seun Kuti and Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P of the defunct P-Square group, have settled their long-running feud.
The disagreement between the two artistes began during the 2023 general elections and was linked to differing opinions about Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi. At the time, Seun Kuti described Obi as an “opportunist,” a comment that sparked a heated exchange online.
Peter Okoye responded by questioning Kuti’s relevance and success in the music industry, which led to a public and messy social media clash between the two musicians.
However, the feud now appears to be over. The pair were recently spotted at a club in Lagos, where they warmly hugged each other, signaling reconciliation.
During the encounter, Seun Kuti was heard telling Peter Okoye:
“We are artistes, we can’t be fighting over politicians.”
Peter Okoye agreed with the statement, and the two shook hands, confirming that they had put their differences behind them.
