Senator Adams Oshiomhole, who represents Edo North, has said the Federal Government led by the All Progressives Congress did not assure Nigerians of instant solutions, stating that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is pursuing steady but impactful reforms.
Oshiomhole spoke on Wednesday while responding to questions on Politics Today, a programme aired on Channels Television.
He noted that although the Tinubu administration has spent about two and a half years in office, changes are taking place on a daily basis as a result of the policies introduced by the government.
The former Edo State governor also faulted critics who, according to him, once called for a break from old methods but now express concerns because the government has chosen a new and different approach.
He said the president is not only adjusting existing systems but is also carrying out deep and wide-ranging reforms designed to fix structural challenges that have persisted for years.
Oshiomhole added that the government should be assessed based on the policy direction it has taken and the substance of its decisions, rather than demands for immediate results, stressing that major transformations take time.
He said: “We did not promise miracles. In two and a half years of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, every day there is something changing.
“And like I said, this is a society in which people like Peter Obi will say, ‘you can’t keep doing the same thing over and over and expect a different outcome.’
“Okay, now Tinubu is doing something totally different, not just reforming, but radically reforming. And then you say, ‘Why is he reforming?’”
