The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed that 12 people lost their lives after gunmen invaded Ngbra Zongo community in Kwall District of Bassa Local Government Area.
The attack reportedly occurred in the early hours of Friday while residents were asleep.
The spokesperson of the command, Alabo Alfred, disclosed the development during a conversation with journalists. He also confirmed that the victims had already been buried in a mass grave.
“From the information we received, 12 people were killed in the attack and the victims had already been buried this morning,” Alfred said.
The police spokesman declined to provide additional details about the victims but expressed sadness over the incident.
Reports from the area indicated that about 13 persons were affected during the attack, including three pregnant women.
