The streaming giant recently released the list of the top five most-streamed artists of all time in Nigeria to mark the fifth anniversary of its operation in the country.
Ahmed Ololade, the world-famous Nigerian singer popularly known as Asake, has become the most-streamed artist of all time on Spotify Nigeria.
Asake topped the list, followed by Wizkid and Seyi Vibez at numbers two and three, respectively. Burna Boy came fourth while Davido took the fifth position.
The global streaming platform also unveiled the most-streamed songs of all time on Spotify Nigeria. Asake led the chart again, with his song “Remember” occupying the number one spot.
Ayo Maff and Fireboy’s “Dealer”, Fido’s “Awolowo”, Wizkid’s “Kese” and Asake’s “Lonely At The Top” ranked at numbers two, three, four and five, respectively.
Nigerian songs also dominated the list of the most-streamed songs of all time on Spotify Kenya, with Ruger’s “Asiwaju”, Ayra Starr’s “Rush”, Fireboy’s “Bandana” and Asake’s “Lonely At The Top” ranking at numbers one, two, three and five, respectively. Kenyan singer Bein’s hit song “Inauma” took the fourth position.
On Spotify Ghana, “Wotowoto Seasoning” by Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck featuring Ghanaian star Black Sherif topped the list of the most-streamed songs of all time. Asake’s “Lonely At The Top” ranked second, while the third, fourth and fifth positions were occupied by Black Sherif’s songs.
